Current German Truck Simulator version is 1.04
Be advised that there are several different releases of the 1.04 update ("patch") - needed for different online and retail versions of the game as released in various territories. Is is important that you select the proper patch for your particular edition of the game, otherwise you will not be able to update your game!
How to update an older version of the game:
1. The online "Trymedia" edition, as downloaded from this website
- There is no separate "patch file" - please download the full setup file of the latest German Truck Simulator from the download page of our website.
- Uninstall your older version of the game. Don't worry about losing the license, it is stored in a different location than the game installation folder. Your valid license for the game survives through this and following steps, there is no need to re-activate. The game save files will also survive re-installation, they are also stored in a different location. Caution: this update may affect compatibility with game "mods," in case of problems, always try to remove mods first to see if it helps!
- Install the freshly downloaded 1.04 edition of the game
- Play!
2. The German retail CD-ROM edition, distributed by rondomedia
- Direct download: German GTS patch 1.04
- Fast patch mirrors: Patches-Scrolls, Atomic Gamer, Gamer's Life Line, SpeedManiacs.de.
- Note that this version of the patch only works with the full retail CD version of the game distributed in Germany. It will not work on other versions, it will not work if any original files were changed.
- Troubleshooting: In some cases, it may be necessary to place the patch file into the folder where the game was installed (example: "C:\Program Files\German Truck Simulator\").
3. The Polish retail CD-ROM edition, distributed by TopWare

- Note that this version of the patch only works with the full retail CD version of the game distributed in Poland. It will not work on other versions, it will not work if any original files were changed.
German Truck Simulator version overview:
- 1.00 - German language retail box version for German market
- 1.01 - Digitally-distributed English language version of the game (negligible functionality changes from 1.00)
- 1.02 - update for both German retail and online version with the following fixes:
- fixed Direct Input force-feedback not initializing on certain controllers
- fixed certain cargos too big/tall for passing through narrow/too low bottlenecks in the map
- fixed in-cabin rear view mirrors angle detection

- German, French, Italian, Spanish, Portuguese, Dutch, Czech, Norwegian, Danish, Finnish and Swedish languages added (applies to online version only).
- improved tyre simulation
- numerous map fixes
- DirectX renderer improved to be up to par with OpenGL features
- 1.04 - update for German retail, Polish retail and online version with the following fixes and improvements:
- installer coming with proper game manuals for all languages (applies to online version only).
- fixed potential crashing bug in rare weather combination
